more mustangs :)

I am a big fan of the mustang breed. And hopefully I'd like to adopt one next summer. (not sure yet though) Most people don't realize how trainable and smart mustangs really are. There is a competition called The Extreme Mustang Makeover where you are given a mustang and 90 days to train it. Its amazing what these mustangs are able to do after that! Right now there is an online internet mustang adoption going on. They tend to do one every two or three months. I love looking through the gallery and seeing all the horses. ^this is one of the mares I thought was adorable. Ok yes maybe not the best horse there but how can you resist that cute face?! :D 5 years old and 13.3 hands. Perfect.

Fun Time!

Play Day! Some of my family came to stay for a couple of days, and the best thing is they are horse fans! We had so much fun playing with Mya. (they had never met her before) And Mya was very tolerant of them. (I thought she did great!) First I warmed Mya up. Rode her around a bit first just to make sure she was behaving herself.

One of my cousins had been taking riding lessons for over a year. So I let her ride Mya by herself. Here are those pics. (btw I thought she did awesome!)

Then a short lead-line lesson! Lots of fun!!

(riding helmets are a must!)

 

 

 

After that they wanted to experience bare back riding. Woo hoo!

 

 

 

All together it was a great fun day. Hope to do it again soon!
